My profile

Sarah Youde (aka monroegirl)
Plymouth, UK.

I love to scrap and I love to stitch. I also love reading, eating and the odd glass of red wine! I only wish I had more time to do all the things I love. Most of my time is taken up looking after a couple of other things I love and they are my two gorgeous children Ben and Charlotte. They ARE gorgeous, I am not biased, I have been blessed with beautiful children which is a good thing because I have such wonderful subjects for my scrapbooking addiction.

I am married to Mark and we will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary in July - we are just as happy now as when we first met. He would rather I didn't spend any money on scrapbooking or cross stitch stash but if I didn't do that I would be perfect and surely that would be really boring! Anyway, this blog is a sort of diary / gallery and I enjoy updating my blog for myself and my family but any visitors are welcome :o)

Just a Couple of Pictures

Here are a couple of pictures that my Mum has sent me taken on the night of the party :) My sister-in-law is sending me the rest on a cd so I should get those soon.

I have had a manic couple of days sorting the house out. I am very organised now, everything has a place and is in it!! Anthea would be proud lol.

Blondie

Did you watch the programme on BBC1 last night about Blondie? It was great! I love Blondie (I am listening to them right now on my Ipod). I think One Way or Another is my favourite all time song it doesn't fail to cheer me up and get me tapping my foot.

I have just completed my first challenge from the Speshal blog. Yes I know it is #12 but I haven't got around to the others. I always go and have a look though. Here is my take on 'My Hero'. It looks nice and clean cut. The circle on the left opens out into a mini accordian book with some more pictures (see below). I made the cover out of a bazzill chip and made the accordian book to fit behind it. The photo also lifts up to reveal some journalling.
There was another fun day in the park opposite our house today. We popped over for a little while and the kids had fun on a ride and the 2p slots. Then I came hope and did a little scrapping (the challenge). Now I am browsing around on the net and looking at the mess I have made of my scrap area - I really should tidy it up now :(

Party Picture

Here is a picture of Ben and Charlotte looking really smart at the party we went to at the weekend. This is the only photo I took before my camera battery died on me I took the rest on my Mum's camera so I have to wait for those to be emailed to me and also for Cath to send her photos to me (so come on you two!).

Ben and Charlotte had a little concert at school yesterday which was really cute. They were singing little songs for all the parents and it was lovely. Charlotte didn't really know what was going on and decided she would just show everyone her pants instead!! The teacher had to pull her dress down for her lol. I couldn't get very good pictures because the camera kept focusing on the people in front of us and I didn't like to stand up and block the view of the people behind us. Ben was given a leavers certificate as this is his last week at playgroup and he starts school next term, Charlotte wanted one too. At one point Charlotte started to sing before everyone else and everyone went 'Ahhhh!'.

Woo Hoo!

We went away at the weekend and I finally got to give the Anniversary album to my in-laws! They really loved it and I was so happy! It made all the hard work worth while. My mother-in-law spent about an hour bawling her eyes out and laughing in equal measure when looking through it, I wish I had my camera there to take photo's of her reaction.

We had the anniversary party on Saturday evening and a VERY good time was had by everyone. Ben and Charlotte looked adorable! Ben had a lovely linen suit on and Charlotte looked like a little princess in her party dress. My sister-in-law Cath took about 100 photo's to prove it. She is going to get them e-mailed to me at some point, there is a decidedly dodgy one of me near the end of the evening lol. I certainly slept all night, I think I passed out actually!!! I will put some piccies up when I get them.

On Sunday we went to visit hubby's Mum and Dad before they flew back to their house in Spain and spent some time chatting with the family before going to Pizza Hut and driving back home. As much as we had a great weekend, I couldn't wait to get home and get the kids into bed so that I could just veg out on the settee. I felt exhausted!

I still feel very tired now, I can't seem to recover.

I managed to get most of my CJ done. It needs to be posted next Monday but due to the anniversary album taking up all of my time I was beginning to think I would never get it done. Anyway, I am nearly there now and very pleased with how it is looking. What do you think?

Where does the time go?

What a week! I have been soo busy finishing off the anniversary album that I have had little time for anything else.

Hooray!!! The album is finished at last and just in time as it needs to be given as a gift on Saturday. All I need to do now is print off the time line I have created and make it into a little accordian book to stick in the back of the album.

I went to the Scraps-in-the-city crop on Saturday so that was great as usual and I got loads done even if I did also spend loads of time chatting :0)

I took Ben and Charlotte to a friends birthday party on Tuesday and they had a great time. It was held at the birthday boys house in their wonderful garden. The weather was beautiful and there was a bouncy castle there. Ben found a huge electric tractor to play with and was bombing around the garden, through trees and tunnels like a mad man! We ate loads of party food and played games. Charlotte got the final prize in the pass the parcel which didn't go down well with my little Bennie Boy who thought he should have got it. It was a little Postman Pat game which they can play together anyway but that didn't calm him down at all as he just wanted to take it off her. Then another little boy went on the tractor and Ben wasn't happy so he stuck his finger in the wheel!!!!!!!!! Lots of tears and running under water ensued. He is ok. Charlotte started singing Happy Birthday as soon as she saw the cake and was a lone voice, everyone was going 'Ahhhhh!' at her - so cute. On the whole they were very good and it was the best party we have been to so far because they were just happy to go off and play and run and run. Usually they just hang off my skirt for the entirity of the party.

Yesterday we went to the Air Day at RNAS Culdrose. It was great. The F16 display was my favourite but it was very noisy and Ben and Charlotte just kept their fingers in their ears all the time. In fact Charlotte sat on hubby's lap and he had his hands over her ears, her face was a picture. The traffic to get out of the base at the end of the day was an absolute nightmare and it was not organised at all!! It took us about 25 minutes to go about 100 yards! They had five lanes of traffic trying to squeeze into one lane.

Last night I just sat on the sofa and watched tv. How lovely :0) I have been working on the album non - stop and it was just so nice to sit down in my lounge for a change.

A Scrapping Frenzy!

Ok, I am officially beginning to panic!!

I have one and a half weeks left and about 17 layouts to complete to finish the Ruby Wedding album. Aaaaaaaaargh! I have been doing well though and have got 5 single layouts and 2 double layouts done this week. I need to sit and do some more tonight (and tomorrow, and the next day!).

Luckily I am going to an all day crop on Saturday so I will just have to forget the chatting and the eating and just keep scrapping, just keep scrapping, just keep scrapping (read in voice of Dory from Finding Nemo!).

This layout is one I did yesterday and finished off today. It is of my hubby and his three sisters. Ahhhh. The papers are from the DCWV Floral stack and they are gorgeous.
