My profile

Sarah Youde (aka monroegirl)
Plymouth, UK.

I love to scrap and I love to stitch. I also love reading, eating and the odd glass of red wine! I only wish I had more time to do all the things I love. Most of my time is taken up looking after a couple of other things I love and they are my two gorgeous children Ben and Charlotte. They ARE gorgeous, I am not biased, I have been blessed with beautiful children which is a good thing because I have such wonderful subjects for my scrapbooking addiction.

I am married to Mark and we will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary in July - we are just as happy now as when we first met. He would rather I didn't spend any money on scrapbooking or cross stitch stash but if I didn't do that I would be perfect and surely that would be really boring! Anyway, this blog is a sort of diary / gallery and I enjoy updating my blog for myself and my family but any visitors are welcome :o)

Creations

I had a little drive down to Porthleven this morning to visit Creations . I bought a couple of nice things. I have been wanting the DCWV retro prints mat stack for ages so I got that today. I also picked up a nice white gel pen (as my sakura one is rubbish!) and some lovely green flower buttons.

All in all it has been a good day. My husband looked after the children this morning so I could go out and have a little time to myself. When I got back they were playing really nicely together and have been very good today. There is a roaring fire in the lounge as it is really cold and windy outside and all is very cosy. I have to go out in the wind in a minute to get more coal and then I am coming home to have a nice evening in.

I may even do some crafting.....

Kirsty's Scrap Yourself Challenge

Well I haven't really got into this blog thing yet, but I am sure I will eventually :)

I have spent the last couple of days being wowed by the fantabulous layouts that everyone is creating for Kirsty (wanna_scraps) 'Scrap Yourself' challenge. The work is utterly gorgeous and can be seen on the UK Scrappers BOM gallery.

I have ~ of course ~ done a lo for it myself. It is the first time I have really tried to do a 6 x 6 lo and I have to say I loved it. I used just scraps of patterned paper and card left over from other lo's which made me feel very frugal. That was until I used half a bottle of prima's and loads of brads too :). Anyhow, here it is!

I quite like it but I think I can do better so I may have another go at it next week. It is really an excuse to get my hubby to actually take some photo's of me and also to do another 6 x 6 lo - I loved it.

I did it.....

Finally. I have been trying to complete the layout for a swap on UK Scrappers but my mojo was hiding under the bed (or somewhere!). I did one layout with the title 'Moving on up' and I hated it! I did another one with the title 'Blossoming'...yuk, it was horrible.

Now I have done this layout and I really like it :o) I hope my swappee likes it too. I have blanked out the little girls face as I haven't asked the Mum if it is ok to post the picture yet (as I haven't sent the lo to her yet!) .

I got some Vintage Prima Got Flowers in the post today :o). I am excited as these are the first bottles of Prima's I have got (I got medium and large). I also order some Urban Couture papers and fibres last night so I am waiting for them to get here - yummy!

I have to get Ben from pre-school in a minute so I had better go and tidy up the mess Charlotte has made with the little Polystyrene wiggles that were packed around my primas!!
