My profile

Sarah Youde (aka monroegirl)
Plymouth, UK.

I love to scrap and I love to stitch. I also love reading, eating and the odd glass of red wine! I only wish I had more time to do all the things I love. Most of my time is taken up looking after a couple of other things I love and they are my two gorgeous children Ben and Charlotte. They ARE gorgeous, I am not biased, I have been blessed with beautiful children which is a good thing because I have such wonderful subjects for my scrapbooking addiction.

I am married to Mark and we will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary in July - we are just as happy now as when we first met. He would rather I didn't spend any money on scrapbooking or cross stitch stash but if I didn't do that I would be perfect and surely that would be really boring! Anyway, this blog is a sort of diary / gallery and I enjoy updating my blog for myself and my family but any visitors are welcome :o)

Half term and dandelions

Well it is half term for the kids so I am looking forward to a manic week next week!
The crop was fab as usual but I don't think I should sit next to Nona again as I did far too much yapping and not enough scrapping! Mind you Nona was on a roll and did loads of lo's so it must have been me doing the yapping. I did manage to get my cj done and I made a good start on a lo for a project I have to do for a mag :)

I have finished the mag lo now - yippee! I am fairly pleased with it but the papers were not really ones I would have chosen myself and I didn't have any brilliant photos to go with them - I went out and took some but they still didn't look right with the papers aaarghhhh.

I completed a lo today of Charlotte. The photo was taken a couple of weeks ago when she was playing in the garden, she was looking at a dandelion and I couldn't have caught it better - her eyes are brilliant.

The paper flowers are decoupaged with foam and the title is printed onto acetate so it is nice and shiny. I am loving my new zig opaque white pen. I have had bad experiences with white pens and I just can't find one I like; even this one can go blotchy if you are not careful but at least it works.
I have got a little sweetie tin, one of the round ones that you use for travel sweets, and I am going to alter it tonight. Should be fun!! I may make a little round album to go inside if I have time.
