My profile

Sarah Youde (aka monroegirl)
Plymouth, UK.

I love to scrap and I love to stitch. I also love reading, eating and the odd glass of red wine! I only wish I had more time to do all the things I love. Most of my time is taken up looking after a couple of other things I love and they are my two gorgeous children Ben and Charlotte. They ARE gorgeous, I am not biased, I have been blessed with beautiful children which is a good thing because I have such wonderful subjects for my scrapbooking addiction.

I am married to Mark and we will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary in July - we are just as happy now as when we first met. He would rather I didn't spend any money on scrapbooking or cross stitch stash but if I didn't do that I would be perfect and surely that would be really boring! Anyway, this blog is a sort of diary / gallery and I enjoy updating my blog for myself and my family but any visitors are welcome :o)

Little Poppet - The Caterpillar Thief

I am very excited! My sister - who lives in South Africa - is at my Mum's in Plymouth and I am going to see her tomorrow. I haven't seen her for 18 months so I am really looking forward to it. She is going to see such a difference in Ben and Charlotte! Especially Charlotte who was barely walking and not talking when she left to go and live in SA. I am going to phone her in a minute but I will wait a while as she didn't get to Plymouth until about 2.30am by the time she and Mum chatted I bet they didn't go to bed until about 4am (at the earliest!).

I found a baby caterpillar on the windowsill the other night so I gave it to Ben. He loved it and didn't want to throw it outside before bed so I got a little box, punched holes in the top and put some lettuce in it to make the little one happy. Ben insisted on taking the box to bed but I told him to make sure the lid was on before he went to sleep. When we checked on Ben before we went to bed we couldn't even find the box! Ben woke up and sleepily said 'It was there' pointing to the bottom of his bed. Well, Charlotte always plays at bedtime for a lot longer than Ben who goes to sleep before her so I had an idea. I went into Charlotte's bedroom and pulled back the covers - lo and behold the little box was in the bed with her! It was so funny. I opened the box and half of the lettuce was gone (Charlotte loves lettuce) and there was no sign of the little green caterpillar! It has not been seen since - I hope she didn't eat it. We put the box back in Ben's room and told him that the caterpillar must have crawled out of the holes in the night.
