My profile

Sarah Youde (aka monroegirl)
Plymouth, UK.

I love to scrap and I love to stitch. I also love reading, eating and the odd glass of red wine! I only wish I had more time to do all the things I love. Most of my time is taken up looking after a couple of other things I love and they are my two gorgeous children Ben and Charlotte. They ARE gorgeous, I am not biased, I have been blessed with beautiful children which is a good thing because I have such wonderful subjects for my scrapbooking addiction.

I am married to Mark and we will celebrate our fifteenth wedding anniversary in July - we are just as happy now as when we first met. He would rather I didn't spend any money on scrapbooking or cross stitch stash but if I didn't do that I would be perfect and surely that would be really boring! Anyway, this blog is a sort of diary / gallery and I enjoy updating my blog for myself and my family but any visitors are welcome :o)

Where does the time go?

What a week! I have been soo busy finishing off the anniversary album that I have had little time for anything else.

Hooray!!! The album is finished at last and just in time as it needs to be given as a gift on Saturday. All I need to do now is print off the time line I have created and make it into a little accordian book to stick in the back of the album.

I went to the Scraps-in-the-city crop on Saturday so that was great as usual and I got loads done even if I did also spend loads of time chatting :0)

I took Ben and Charlotte to a friends birthday party on Tuesday and they had a great time. It was held at the birthday boys house in their wonderful garden. The weather was beautiful and there was a bouncy castle there. Ben found a huge electric tractor to play with and was bombing around the garden, through trees and tunnels like a mad man! We ate loads of party food and played games. Charlotte got the final prize in the pass the parcel which didn't go down well with my little Bennie Boy who thought he should have got it. It was a little Postman Pat game which they can play together anyway but that didn't calm him down at all as he just wanted to take it off her. Then another little boy went on the tractor and Ben wasn't happy so he stuck his finger in the wheel!!!!!!!!! Lots of tears and running under water ensued. He is ok. Charlotte started singing Happy Birthday as soon as she saw the cake and was a lone voice, everyone was going 'Ahhhhh!' at her - so cute. On the whole they were very good and it was the best party we have been to so far because they were just happy to go off and play and run and run. Usually they just hang off my skirt for the entirity of the party.

Yesterday we went to the Air Day at RNAS Culdrose. It was great. The F16 display was my favourite but it was very noisy and Ben and Charlotte just kept their fingers in their ears all the time. In fact Charlotte sat on hubby's lap and he had his hands over her ears, her face was a picture. The traffic to get out of the base at the end of the day was an absolute nightmare and it was not organised at all!! It took us about 25 minutes to go about 100 yards! They had five lanes of traffic trying to squeeze into one lane.

Last night I just sat on the sofa and watched tv. How lovely :0) I have been working on the album non - stop and it was just so nice to sit down in my lounge for a change.
